Fishing

The waters off Drummond Island are famous for great fishing in any season

  • Spring - Perch and Smelt runs in April. May opens with Northern Pike, Walleye, and Bass seasons.
  • Summer - Fishing is good throughout the summer for Northern Pike, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Cisco, and Salmon. Trolling the DeTour lighthouse has been very productive for Salmon.
  • Fall - Perch run again in the fall. Salmon fishing can get fast and furious.
  • Winter - Ice-fishing is good for Perch and Northern Pike.

You can bring your own boat or charter a trip with an experienced captain.  Bait and tackle is available on the island as are a number of marinas.
