It has over 150 miles of shoreline and over 40 inland lakes

The State of Michigan owns over 50% of the island meaning a lot of land available for adventure and exploring.
This natural wilderness is surrounded by more than 50 outlying islands and clear blue waters.
The year round population is approximately 800-1000.
The island is served by a modern, 24 hour ferry system that runs Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
